In great company...

GEEK was accepted by the Office for Advanced Drama Research (OADR) of the Univeristy of Minnesota for a program that connected playwrights with theatres for workshops and possible production. If a theatre agreed " that rehearsal and production facilities should be made available to the playwright, the Office in essence underwrites (it) for the theatre and the playwright.”
Playwrights who’d benefited from their program had included the likes of Maria Irene Fornes, Jean-Claude van Italie, Mark Medoff, Terrence McNally, Sam Shepherd and Megan Terry.
Unfortunately, GEEK did not connect with a theatre in their program. It was re-written in 1984 as Stage Blood and reached the semi-finals of two national playwriting competitions.
